In China, the world's longest cross-sea bridge has opened. The project is part of efforts to improve economic integration and development in east China's Yangtze River Delta.

This is a new shortcut in the Yangtze River Delta. The 36-kilometer bridge spans the Hangzhou Bay, cutting the length of a trip from Shanghai to port city Ningbo by 120 kilometers, and saving at least one hour for travellers.

Local resident said, "It saves both time and money, and helps to improve our work efficiency."

The longest bridge across the sea is expected to alleviate the loaded traffic flow in the booming triangle region linking Shanghai, Hangzhou and Ningbo. It will be an important channel for the coastal economic regions in East China.

It will also boost economic integration and development in the Yangtze River Delta, which covers almost 100,000 square kilometers and has a population of 72.4 million people.

Linking major tourist sites across the Yangtze River, the bridge itself has also become an essential stop for tourists.

Chen Minxian, official Ningbo Tourism Bureau, said, "It is expected that during this year's May Day holiday, about 200,000 tourists will visit Ningbo, doubling the number of the same time last year."

The six-lane bridge has cost 1.18 billion yuan to build, with 30 percent private investment. It is the first time China's private sector has invested in a major public infrastructure project in the country.

  • Our ancestors were building the Great Wall while most of yours are still wondering how to cook that animal you hunted in your underwear. But we had our problems of bad regimes, outside interventions, and invasions which set us back. We have only begun to get the fruit of knowledge after sending out 2 generations worth of students so we can learn and industrialize ourselves. This is a major accomplishment and we thank you for the comment, but we are by far not the lead. We are TRYING to improve.

  • @arodspecialist Well said. But in our language, we simply put it in this way:

"When Egyptians built Great Pyramid of Gaza, Babylonians had Hanging Gardens, Chinese built the Great Wall and Persians had Cyrus Cylinder to declare the human rights, your ancetors were still running in nude and fu*king in the bushes. ... And, ... BTW, ... your grandfathers were still doing the slave trade in open markets less 150 years ago."

    LOL!

  • @pakistanrubberroll1 Taliban.

  • @pakistanrubberroll1 nobody likes you dirty stinky pakis

  • @arodspecialist Btw keep on trolling on any videos involving China on Youtube with such comments. You're doing a great job making people hate your country. Stupid troll. 傻屄

  • @arodspecialist Typical Chinese chauvinist on the Internet, there's no single word in comments saying that I hate China. Hating a country or a people is ignorant. I only hate people like you arodspecialist who thinks their own race/culture is superior to others grow up please or the modern world won't have any place for you.

  • @saigonpunkid I am waving a white flag and I bow down to you on Youtube. I thought I was debating at least someone in the Western world who hates China with some shit to back things up like the US. Instead, I am wasting time on a 3rd world country Chinese hater. Sorry, but this will be my last msg. When Vietnam is in the news for anything like a gold medal in the Olympics, or hosting one, or makes $256B a year in revenues aside from prostitution, then you can have my attention. Till then....

  • @saigonpunkid There you go. Be proud of your Vietnam heritage. Good for you for getting them Chinese whores. And luckily for us that contributes to your national revenue not us right? Hey, do not blame us, National Geographic and BCC stated it. But hey, it is quite alright, as I do not hate the Vietnamese. What for? You guys are in position globally to make a dent in anything. 5 seats of the UN? 5 seats of the NPT? G8? G30? Oh, does not matter? Okay, trade sanctions does not matter?

  • @arodspecialist I'm from Vietnam of course. I feel so lucky I dont come from China where people are so poisoned they cannot utter anything that makes sense. Talking about prostitution, no one does it better than the Chinese, trust me buddy. I met Chinese whores everywhere: Europe, South Korea, Malaysia, heck even some resort in Vietnam I visited last summer has Chinese prostitutes ready to take over local jobs, I remember one was from Beijing and one from Hangzhou, service was very ok and cheap.

  • @saigonpunkid You got me. You are right. Those walls are shit. I did use them as a reference to show another Youtuber that us chinks AT LEAST were making dirt mounds ahead their ancestor in diapers. So where the fuck you hail from? I do hope you are not Vietnamese. The last I heard, prostitution was the 4th top revenue from your country. China is not perfect, but damn, prostitution? My bad, maybe you are a Westerner who hates chink. That is great too. So what is up? You ashamed?

  • @arodspecialist Sure. Let me teach you about a thing or two about your own country history. Let's start with Great walls. What Great wall do you talk about in the above post: The Qin and Springs and Autumn era Great wall that was basically stretched lumps of dirt, the longer lumps of dirt built by Han dynasty, the even longer system of ravines and ditches built by the Jin dynasty or the most well known Ming dynasty brick and mortar walls that came to existent only 500 years ago?
