  • the absinthe you are drinking is Jade Absinthe Edouard, it is not Pernod, however it is a pernod replica. The drink is a replica of a 1910 version of Edouard Pernod, replicated by T.A. Breaux. Facts anyone?

    Thanks

    joe

  • I don't know if you noticed or not but what I am pouring is a $300 sample of 1910 Edouard Pernod. The bottles in the background are simply that - background. The sample I am pouring is a deep brown - not vibrant green like the Jade Edouard.

  • I also have a few bottles of French absinthe for sale. Not the one I used in the video but newer, very high quality absinthe. Contact me. I also have several preban absinthes available.

  • Some - and maybe most - pre-ban absinthes have turned from peridot green to a dead-leaf brown. That's not necessarily a bad thing.

Sometimes whole bottles are sold, sometimes a needle is used to draw out 50 ml samples

That much - enough for one or two drinks - of 1910 will cost you almost $300. Some day I will go for it.

  • I might have a few preban samples of absinthe tif anyone is interested.

  • How much difference between the old absinthe and the new absinthe is there? Different ingrediants?

  • If anyone is still wondering, the song is Francesco Tamagno performing "Niun mi tema" (Morte d'Otello) from Giuseppe Verdi's Otello.

  • A beautiful presentation. I watch it often when trying to explain the difference in colour to friends.

Thank you for sharing your moment with us all.

  • You're fucking insane.

I would not have ever opened that.

  • I can see it is a preban absinthe from the colour, the socalles feuille morte.

jmfranc, what music is this? I find this to be more haunting than Francis Marty's Fee Verte'. Respect.

  • BRAVO!! You drink your absinthe with the same music I do!! ;)

  • I just got to say... Looking at this... drolling over it... I hate you....

But GREAT set up and music! The old music is the only way to drink Absinthe!

  • what song is that?
