'Nuclear winter' is a misleading term. What it means is that a planet's atmsophere is clogged with such an amount of dust and debris that the light/heat/energy of the sun can't reach the planet's surface, thereby creating a permanent winter. Nuclear weapons aren't the only cause of this; asteroid impacts such as the one that wiped out the dinosaurs also create nuclear winters. The dust and debris generated when the Covenant glasses a planet also results in nuclear winters.

@xxstrxxstrxx yep, book called halo:fall of reach ( i have it) i havent completed it but it is the best, action filled,discriptive book ive ever read, it is amazing :). tells about how John(master chief) how he grew up and how he came to be the master chief.
