I was a BT on the AE-32 Flint in late 1979. We uploaded and vert reped the Midway on our way home from the IO. We took on all her ordnance in the PI. I stood phone talker duty on station ten on the Flint and watched the massive amount of bombs and rockets and the baddest of all the nucs get taken aboard the Midway. After three days of delivering the Midway's stuff my last memory watching her put the steam on and she disappeared over the horizon it was amazing how fast that ship disappeared.

@ 1970reddog... Served on Midway, '88-'91. Left Midway in Jan. 1991, right before Desert Storm began. Worked as an EM in Engineering. Great times in Yokosuka, Japan!

Served aboard Midway '88-'91 in Engineering. Got on right after you left. PI was like our 2nd home. Must have went there a dozen times in my 3 years on Midway! Did two I.O.'s. Memories I will take with me for the rest of my life!

Great video. Sure takes me back. I was stationed aboard the Midway in 1980 with VAQ-136 when we came over from NAS Whidbey to replace the Marine Prowler squadron. So many of those shipboard photos look so familiar to me.
