  • Hilary Hahn's voice is really pretty.

  • Thank you for talking about these issues Hilary. As someone who did play through pain during my undergrad years, resulting in more serious, permanent nerve damage and pain I feel that it is incredibly important to get the message out that you should never play through pain! I would also add that Alexander technique or Feldenkrais can also help to prevent or relieve pain or injury.

  • One should b careful. I pulled something out of place on my 1st finger just messing around with a cello on a store that had a high bridge. I was playing around like I was doing violin vibrato on it, and days later I noticed I did something to my finger. Moving it around I noticed I something out of place. Since it doesn't hurt, I don't want surgery. It doesn't bother me to play violin, but I regret doing that; is the stupidest thing I've done and I do feel it when I move my finger by itself.

  • Don't play in pain. If it is more serious treat it through a Doctor/Sports injury specialist, then a Violin teacher who is very familiar with common Violin injury problems. There are also a number of Violinists who also specialise in Alexander.

  • Why a good teacher is very important in playing any instrument. If they can't cure you they should be able to highlight faults in technique/posture.Pain through faulty technique leads to frustration and poor progress, everything becomes much less efficient much more difficult to execute. It can also be a vicious circle, related muscles being overworked, trying to compensate for others that are strained.

  • I love you my dear and you should try your voice in talking directly. I enjoyed listening to you talk like than much of the last few playing. Keep video stuff...and just about stuff.

  • part 2

took a lot of money, ripped me and that is all. i was lucky to call back in Europe and get right diagnose through phone, after that i started recovery, why i payed usa money hungry doctors thousands, i still do not know.

i guess she is well protected, first of all she is american in america, then, guess there is a lot of protection behind her. i found america very dangerous place for the foreign talented musicians, usa can be like jungle for them

  • she suggests to see therapist in the usa. american doctors are extremely dangerous with misdiagnoses as it was my experience, many times one gets contrary opinions by those doctors who also charge fortune and rip you off, if no insurance, and some other terrible american companies, one has to sell house, in order to go through those disgusting american health treatment experiences, finally to find out what is going on. I saw 4 renowned american doctors, they all had contrary diagnoses...

  • i think i am in love.

  • @larryaguitar Oh sorry I can't speak very well english and I thought that you said: her nose is perfect but her mouth is too big, my apologises!

I love Hilary Hahn too :)

  • @ineschoupa Oh, that was just in response to some idiot whose comment has since been flagged as spam. I'd like to see Hilary Hahn play live sometime, as her youtube videos knock me out.

  • @larryaguitar

Hilary doesn't play the violin with her nose or her mouth.. so I think it's ok..
