  • Take a step back form your computer and look at this drill.

The kid hits line drives to the outfield and the coach says "no that's not good, hit it at the screen".

Then the kid takes one of his worst swings of the round, falls off balance, hits the screen, and the coach is happy.

Just shows you how basball coaching is so out of wack.

  • dude just shut up its not ur internet so just shut up

  • For those who dont understand, the purpose is to give the runner in 2nd base an easier move to 3rd, or even score based on how well the ball is hit. Overall, the purpose is to help move the runner, especially if your unable to bunt in certain situations.

  • @BURNINGxPANDA28 he also hit the ball where it was pitched, that ball was thrown pretty much down the plate, and the general rule is hit it where its pitched

  • @BURNINGxPANDA28 So drills can and should exist in a vacuum without having to relate to game situation? I'm glad you were never my coach. So, what exactly is the purpose of this drill beyond the game of hitting it into a net? How does this translate to real baseball? Isn't that what drills are for, to make you a better player? So, please, explain to us how the skills acquired in this drill would make one a better hitter in baseball games?

  • @IronPancake The goal of any drill should be to prepare for the game of baseball. You hit the ball in that net –especially if you're "hitting down on the ball" as the coach is saying – you're just practicing to ground out/line out to the first baseman.

  • @basebull He said it wasnt good for the purpose of the drill. The goal in th drill isnt to hit to center or lined right. In the net.

  • U teaching a kid that hits shots to line drive himself out at 2nd or 1st base wtf

  • his hitting to the outfield on the right side? he doesnt need to hit the screen

  • there's really one rule for hitting

JUST HIT THE DAMN BALL DONT FUCKING OVER THINKING IT.

  • Why not sac bunt the runner from second over to third. know you have opts for getting the runner home. Highest % of scoring comes from thirdbase....
