Gun barrels were not made like this in the Civil War era. Firearms were mass produced in factories like The Springfield Armoury and Colt Firearms
The reason the wounds required amputations was that .58 caliber minnie ball
was made of soft lead with no metal jacketing. On impact it mushroomed out almost an inch wide. It shattered bone. Even today those wounds would require amputation.

lol i took that one ............ but it was with a woman as the guide and that a person who was on hells kitchen the one with short white hair thats a lez.... ya i was on that tour and she was 2 weird.............
