96x36 monochrome OLED display controlled by an AVR (AT90USBKEY).

Looks much better in the flesh; crappy webcam video.

  • can you tell me how that miniature connector of the display is called and what companies make them? thanks

  • There is no suitable connector, the tab is meant to be soldered onto a PCB directly. Some display types might use a connector, but not this one.

  • Thats really cool. I'm keen to try writing some drivers for OLEDs. Can you tell me more about how you did this? How did you interface the oled to the PC and what sort of other bits do you need to get it running?

    thanks

  • No, I did not use a PC to control the display. I used a microcontroller, an Atmel AT90USB1287.

  • Yes, I wrote the software myself :)

Where can I buy one OLED display like that?

  • Thanks... that makes things a little more interresting. Maybe I can find a SMD connector that has a suitable tab pitch so that I can solder it onto the foil.

  • This is a nice piece of kit and very reasonably priced too.

Did you write the source code for the animation?

  • joo ;)
