Now available on iTunes! In My Memory - Justin Deschamps
Written by James Collins, Justin Deschamps & David Celia (lyrics included)
Several months ago, Justin approached me about helping him write a song for his mother, who unfortunately, was murdered when Justin was a very young boy (just shy of 5 years old).
Needless to say, I was deeply touched by the honour of helping to create a touching tribute to Justin's mom, Paula Lynn Deschamps. Paula's life was taken away, far too early, at the age of 19.
I'm sure, anyone who has experienced an incredible loss, in their life, can relate to "In My Memory." I hope you enjoy as much as we enjoyed creating this song.
Special thanks to Boomtang (producer), David Celia (for the arrangement and the bridge), Leslie Hayman (watch for her docu-style video of "In My Memory" on youtube soon) and MusicMike (please check out his amazing music channel, right here on youtube too! - I guarantee you'll love it!)
Lyrics for "In My Memory"
(Written by James Collins, Justin Deschamps & David Celia)
Hey, do you ever hear my wish you goodnight
Hey, I think about you everyday of my life
Sometimes I don't know what I'm supposed to say to you
Would you even recognize me If I was standing right in front of you....would you?
I wish that I could talk with you
You could tell me the things I never knew
Let you hold me like you used to do
In My Memory
I wish that I could just see you
All I have are the pictures of my youth
We could sing "Mockingbird"...me and you
In My Memory
I had a girlfriend but we never got things right
I had some bad times but I always saw the light
I didn't grow up to be quite as tall as I'd like to be
But somehow I always knew that you sent angels to watch over me
I wish that I could talk with you
You could tell me the things I never knew
Let you hold me like you used to do
In My Memory
I wish that I could just see you
All I have are the pictures of my youth
We could sing "Mockingbird"...me and you
In My Memory
This much is true.....I could never be without you
I wish that I could talk with you
You could tell me the things I never knew
Let you hold me like you used to do
In My Memory
I wish that I could just see you
All I have are the pictures of my youth
We could sing "Mockingbird"...me and you
In My Memory
We could sing "Mockingbird" ....me and you
In My Memory
This level of emotion can only be expressed in a song or a prayer.
This song had to happen.
This song is magnificient.
This song glows in the dark.
Be proud young man; be very proud of yourself and your song.

Real talent and real emotion are so hard to find in today's musical landscape, and i'm sure you will be recognized and appreciated for your skill. You are an inspiration to everyone who has ever met you, and I wish you all the success in the world. To be able to create such positivity out of negative circumstances is something that our world needs move of, and if all of us could do the same, our world would be a better place.
