I have a fan just like this, except it has a different control system- the Kenmore Full Range Comfort Control. It's a rheostat as opposed to a multi position switch. It's dark brown with a wood-grain side. Same sort of plastic, same brand impeller; It's a Sears 317.80230. My great Aunt owned it, and I think it's a 1970s model. I use it all summer long, and it's an amazing little fan, and very quiet when on "sleep mode" which is a very low speed on the rheostat.

What's interesting about Sears is that they sourced from a variety of manufacturers. I have catalog scans from the 1950's showing many of their table fans which were made by Signal, Mimar and Diehl.

I know Lasco made later Sears & Galaxy hassock fans.

I have the same fan, only mine has a woodgrain finish and is a Fresh 'nd Aire brand. Has the same motor and blades. Im guessing its from the 70's. Im pretty sure Lasko made these fans.

It's in great condition.
Very quiet.

The one I have is a little new compared to this one. Mine also has a cheaper motor and plastic blades. But the cabnet looks the same.

made by Lasko
wow look how filthy the inside of that fan was! Looks like a mouse nest lol
Sure is nice and quiet. Great design too! Sure doesn't look like it's from the 1950s though.
