Jeff Barnes, Recreational Safety Officer with the Iowa DNR. Anyone born after January 1,1972 must have passed a hunter education class in order to buy a hunting license in Iowa. Some of the different subjects taught in our classes are firearm safety, game care, wildlife ID, conservation and ethics, first aid, hunting regulations and tree stand safety. Hunting has been long time tradition in Iowa and this year we're celebrating our 50th year of hunter education. Visit www.iowadnr.gov for more information
