  • I cried during the podium at Montreal 95 and I aint an emotional bloke, by far and a way my favourite race driver of all time whose results don't tell the full story.

  • Alesi is very unrated driver..

  • jean .... king without a crown ... still a king

  • this video proves the races, music and life was better back in the 90s

  • we need more alesis, mansells, montoyas and paul tracys.

  • Love this guy, win(once) lose or draw he is always a racer, always a gentleman. F1 lost a good guy when Jean retired but DTM sure came out on top.

  • @Skallagrim77 I never thought anybody else would have believe that. I made my numbers myself back in 95 and he would have been in a position to fight for the WC if not for the reliability of his car. He retired while in 1st or 2nd place 5 times: spain, belgium, italy, japan and monaco where Brundle made him crash. If he wouldn't have retired in all those races, Ferrari could have raised their game and he would have been in contention to win the WC. If if if.

  • @boing615

Ferrari wanted to keep him. Alesi didn't like Schumacher very much and probably knew he was going to sign a contract to become the designated number 2 driver. When Schumacher's seat in Benetton became available Alesi saw his chance to finally excel in a good car. Sadly the Benetton had been designed with Schumacher's driving style in mind (Herbert hated it in 1995) and Williams made possibly the best car they ever made (a record 12 wins in a season for them)

    Alesi had skills alright

  • Should have won a few in 95 but for shitty reliability, I nearly cried at the nurburgring result, SO close to an epic win and He was hunting down Shuey for another potentially awesome one at Suzuka when the car shit itself.

I'd love him to have stayed at ferrari and gone head to head with MS, he'd have given him more headaches than Irvine.

  • if he would have been not so unluky he could have won the world championship in 1995... if you examinate all the races he was almost always the faster! I love this driver!

  • jean is the legend even though he never win WDC n 1 race win only...the best jean battle on track has 2 b the duel between senna in USA GP 1990...that was the 1st ever sign he can bcum potential champion one day which didnt happen sadly damm
