United Supermarkets and UMC Health System have joined forces to offer a new, cutting-edge service.
The Clinic, located adjacent to the pharmacy, is designed for patient convenience. Being situated close to the pharmacy will allow patients to get their prescriptions filled immediately.
Living Well ExpressCare will be the first in-store health clinic in Lubbock, with an additional location scheduled to open shortly at United's 50th and Avenue Q location. United opened a location on September 2 in Amarillo, at the 45th and Bell location, as well as the new Market Street store currently under construction in Frisco. There are an estimated 425 retail clinics in operation in the United States, but only about 20 percent are located in supermarkets.
Not only does this partnership provide our guests with convenient, quality health care, we believe it also will allow us to focus attention on the wellness and nutrition products and services available in our stores," said Dan Sanders, CEO of United
Supermarkets, L.L.C. "We are proud to partner with UMC in this innovative, and needed, retail endeavor."
The facility will be open seven days a week, maintaining operating hours similar to those of the pharmacy. The clinic is staffed by a nurse practitioner under the supervision of a licensed physician.
