I have now spent a few evenings with this transcription for standard tuning. The score was kindly provided by Alain Reiher who transposed it to the key to D, consolidated onto one staff and fingered the harp-like scale passages. (I think they work well.) The original score is at Arthur J. Ness' site:

  • This is awesome, I really love this but I never have seen it played before on the acoustic guitar. Respectful and amazing transcription played with a highest standard level of technique and precision.

So good memories from the time I've bought the Dolcissima & Amorosa recording from Paul O'Dette playing renaissance lute.

You're simply great, please post more videos. Can you play some Kapsberger or Simone Molinaro for our delight ?

Many thanks and keep up this superb work. I'm enjoying it alot

  • @docetrago - Thanks so much for your positive comments! What an honor to be mentioned in the same breath as the great Paul O'Dette. I realize that I am just an amateur but maybe managed to capture some of the magic of these pieces at the time.

I haven't been as active with the guitar for the last year and thus the lull in YouTube pieces. I will try to have a look at some Kapsberger or Molinaro. Maybe some new pieces will ignite a flame. :-) Thanks again.

  • @Pamilearner Very good to hear it from you, I'll be very pleased if you post some baroque pieces also, I like too much of Early Music works as well. Maybe a transcribed Toccata Arpeggiatta Seconda from Kapsberger. It is really magical ! Many thanks also for posting these magnificent acoustic guitar versions so closely tied to the original ones.

  • @docetrago - Well, I can't really promise too much. I'll see if I can get the Kapsberger going in some way. There are some excellent YT guitar versions around already - Gabriele Natilla, Alain Reiher(ArsansT), ...

  • Very well done. Soothing and sexual.

  • @schniggitty1 - Thanks for watching. First time for that comment. :-)
