In 2008, Tenet Corporation and the California Nurses Association union agreed to unionize several Houston-area health care facilities. This backroom deal included a gag order that prevented any discussion of the downsides of unionization. Several nurses turned to the National Right to Work Foundation for free legal aid to fight this abusive arrangement.

  • I would ne er join a union, i do not trust those at the top, they care nothing about the workers, only the money each worker pays to make the super sich, to hell with the unions, I have worked in my factory 11 years and have never joined the union and never will.

  • @steyzon80 not all of them are union i live and work in California

  • These nurses have been drinking too much Corporate Kool-aid. This is misinformation. Every American worker owes a lot to Unions that have fought for rights before we were even born. Child labor laws, Payment of overtime, etc. Unions are about democracy. Members must vote on decisions made. As long as nurses remain divided our power is muted. NNOC represents Bedside Care Nurses who are NOT represented by TNA. TNA is composed of Nurse ADMINISTRATORS and some educators.

  • YYYEEEAAAHHHH!!!! Go Houston Nurses! Finaly, some healthcare professionals with some sense. I thought I was the only one. And the California Nurses Assosciation? What business do they have doing business in Texas? Shouldn't they be looking out for California Nurses?

I live in California and these unions (SEIU, UHW) have California hospitals all locked up. I have come across so many positions that I could qualify for but are only open to unions. I wish CA. was a right-to-work state.

  • impeach the unions. get rid of them. you will make more money as non union. union is greed.
