Scott Stratten, Unmarketing
Keep Going Until we Stop

Scott Stratten is the president of UnMarketing. He is an expert in Viral, Social, and Authentic Marketing which he calls Un-Marketing. It's all about positioning yourself as a trusted expert in front of target market, so when they have the need, they choose you.

Formerly a music industry marketer, national sales training manager and a Professor at the Sheridan College School of Business, he now has over 65,000 people follow his daily rantings on Twitter and was voted one of the top influencer's on the site with over 100 million users. It's the only time he's felt comfortable being compared to Ashton Kutcher, P Diddy and Justin Bieber.

His book "UnMarketing: Stop Marketing. Start Engaging" became a national best-seller before it was released, and recently a Globe and Mail #1 Business best-seller, and an Amazon.com, Amazon.ca and Amazon UK best-seller.

His clients' viral marketing videos have been viewed over 60 million times before YouTube existed and dial-up bandwidth speed was a concern. He recently appeared in the Wall Street Journal, Huffington Post, Mashable, USA Today, CNN.com and Fast Company. That plus $5 gets him a coffee anywhere in the world.

  • I agree with Tim and AngelPam - the message is without doubt a powerful one but there is no need for the bad acting. I was in a high powered job, a single mum and was very ill. A friend at work saw the state of me and said "What are you still doing here?" - I replied "I'm trying to provide for my kids." Her response? "Provide what, a corpse?" - I left work that day and went straight to my doctor - I took medical retirement and got well." Best days work I ever did.

  • I have seen some boring TED videos, but this is the first one that I've seen that comes off as fake.

A good message, but definitely lacking authenticity, which is funny in that authenticity is one of the things Scott Stratten recommends people do.
