Another of the classic mid D races from Christchurch 74. Yes, Kipkurgat ran a fantastic race and should have established a WR. But there were no losers in this race... only multiple NRs and PRs. There's no question that the 300m lane rule in the mid-70s forced much faster championship races, viz. OG 76, WC 77. Hey and Steve Hooker's dad...well, that's cool.
