The Lord will Destroy Death Forever! Pray to end abortion.

Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, continues in this video his special series on praying to end abortion. "The Lord will destroy death forever!" This marvelous declaration from Isaiah 25:8 should sustain us daily in our pro-life efforts. When we pray to end abortion, we are not just asking God to do us some favor or to grant a request. It's much more momentous than that.
When we ask him to end abortion, we are pleading for the fulfillment of the primary purpose of salvation history: the conquering of death. It was about this that God first spoke when he promised in Genesis 3:15 (the "first gospel") that the head of the serpent would be crushed. It was for this that Jesus himself died and rose again; it is for this that every Church ministry exists. As Paul explains in 1 Cor. 15, as in Adam all die, so in Christ shall all be made alive, but each in his own order. Christ is the first to rise from the dead; then all things are to be made subject to him, and in him, all will rise at the end of time. "Then shall come to pass the saying that is written: Death is swallowed up in victory!" (1 Cor. 15:54).

I believe if god wanted abortion eradicated he would have done it a long time ago! After all god is "ALL POWERFUL, " isn't he? Do you really believe that god needs your help people? I mean, come on!! It's soooo incredibly clear that this issue(abortion)is not god related but rather man related!! You folks are pushing your own agenda in a god's name!

@mythicalhell Well, a little thinking goes a long way. What would this kind of reasoning do to efforts to stop terrorism, child abuse, domestic violence, gang rape, and -- well, you get the point. It's easy to evade responsibility, either by saying it's God's fault or by saying He doesn't exist. Neither works.

@FrFrankPavone All I'm saying is IF abortion is so bad in god's eyes why doesn't "HE" put a stop to it? Isn't god all powerful? On the other hand, if religion is man made, it would make perfect sense that man would have to deal with it!

@mythicalhell Sure he could. Now abortion is plainly the dismemberment of a child. So the question becomes the same in refernce to dismemberment of adults or any other kind of violence. It's not ultimately an issue of God's power, but of whether or not he gives us freedom to do evil. And beyond that, if he gives us freedom, it's a question of whether he also gives us grace to guide that freedom. And then it's a question of whether grace can be obtained through prayer. Lots of important issues!

If god is all knowing, and all mighty, and has powers beyond anything we can understand, then why doesn't he end abortion himself? Some of you people need to THINK before you speak, or type. POPULATION CONTROL. If we didn't have abortion we'd have more people, higher taxes, less food, worse planet. And for the argument, "you could be killing the person that cures cancer." Or you could have a baby thats an ax murderer or rapist. THINK BEFORE YOU FUCKING SPEAK.

Uuuuugh, if you consider a fertilized human egg to be a human being, your god is the god of death as he kills 75% (at least) of all humans before they are able to take their first breath. I wouldn't be praying to him to 'conquer death' as he seems to revel in it...
