I can't help but think that nobody should ever find themselves in the position of having to tell a loved one, "Honey, there's something that can cure you, but we can't afford it."
As someone who does know a loved one with PTSD, the penicillin comparison makes perfect sense to me.

Thank you for posting this.
You know, whenever I watch stuff on this subject, I'm reminded of one particular moment in the health care debate. President Obama was advocating his plan, and he stated that "Nobody should ever be in the position of having to tell a loved one, 'Honey, there's something that can cure you, but we can't afford it.' "
