Handisport Lyonnais - Section Torball 19-03-2010 à Lyon

Le torball est un sport collectif spécifique pour personnes déficientes visuelles qui se pratique en salle à 3 contre 3 sur un terrain dont les dimensions sont un peu inférieures à celle d'un terrain de volley. Le principe du jeu est de marquer un but à l'adversaire en faisant rentrer le ballon dans les cages adverses. Pour mettre non-voyants, malvoyants et "voyants" à égalité, tous les pratiquants portent un masque qui occulte totalement la vue. Le ballon est sonore se lance à la main comme au handball. Les deux équipes jouent comme au volley chacune dans leur moitié de terrain.

Torball is a sport for the blind and visually impaired. It is played by two teams on opposite sides of an indoor playing field. Each team consists of 3 players. In the middle part of the field there are 3 cords stretched across the entire width. On each end of the playing field is a goal that also stretches the entire width (7 meters) of the field. The playing ball is similar to a soccer ball with bells inside so that it can be heard when it is rolling across the playing field.
