Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions with Zero Net Deforestation

British Columbia has set a goal of zero net deforestation by 2015 to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Dr. Werner Kurz, Canada's foremost forest carbon research scientist, explains the importance of reducing deforestation in this short video, which also features Shawnigan Lake School students teaming up with a silviculture crew to plant trees as part of an afforestation project on southern Vancouver Island.
