Don't encode you project in DVD studio pro. Encode it with compressor.
From FCP, go to Export with Compressor. From the drop down menus in compressor you will have plenty of codec options. Go to the DVD folder and choose a setting that best fits you project. Really depends on length.
You can customize the settings further but I have found that the default settings are rather good quality options.
