@101dwdude - I never said I teach, but my sister is an elementary school teacher. Says parents expect her to do the parenting and bunch of other BS. No way of punishing them, they love punishment. And here comes the cage part. She can't touch anyone at all. not even hold them. Once she almost got framed when a kid threw himself back and said she threw him and said he would sue her. Pretty smart for a 3rd grader. It's about as un-ideal as it gets.

@101dwdude - I do live here. Trying to teach kids here is like trying to teach kids from inside a plastic cage. Kids can do whatever the hell they want. You're right, that doesn't justify the above, unless of course it's expected in some rules.

@josegam79 Lol I don't know where you're from...but it is VERY easy to get a teacher fired. Just like suing someone. You don't need "power" to get a teacher fired.

@danielodors Sigh..really? How would you know what the US is like if you don't live here? So ignorant. And smashing a kid's cell phone is by no means a necessary way of punishing him. Obviously, the kid was an idiot but the teacher has no right to destroy his phone.
