  • Dr. Suri can i ask you what is the best control to do becouse i have done 2 echographies, ekg and the doctors said that i dont have nothing but i have the same signs that you describes

  • @sidihasanaj Dr. Suri says: Please let them know that they could be seen in valve clinic any time. Please contact Mayo at 507-284-2511 if you would like to be evaluataed here.

  • Dr. Suri: "There are generally no limitations following robotic mitral repair, but each case is assessed individually based upon a patient's medical situation. Records can be sent to:

    Mayo Clinic

Attn: Cardiovascular surgery- Dr. Rakesh Suri

    200 1st St. S.W.

    Rochester, MN 55905

  • Dr. Suri: My father is currently at Mayo Clinic in Florida. He has had a stroke believed to be caused by endocarditis. Additionally, he has been diagnosed with a leaking Mitral valve. The cardioligist has stated teh repair and more then likely replacement will be needed. Who would you be talking to if it was you that needed the surgery? How do you know if repair is better than replacement

  • Mitral valve repair is generally favored over valve replacement due to long term survival and heart function benefits. The ability to repair mitral valves affected by endocarditis is less predictable based on the extent of tissue destruction. This would need to be determined and discussed with both the cardiologist and cardiac surgeon.

  • I knew someone who died of heart failure related to MVP. Female, 44, low BMI. No sign of trouble. Died instantly. How common is this?

  • Dr. Rakesh Suri: The incidence of sudden death related to mitral valve prolapse caused by a broken cord is in the range of 0.8-1%.

  • Dr. Suri, I am a 24 year old female, I have just been diagnosed through echocardiogram of a "mildly myxomatous mitral valve with borderline prolapse and trace mitral regurgitation" and a "5mm secundum atrial septal defect with left to right shunt". I am not sure if I need a repair. and if I do, would I be able to get both fixed during the same operation through the same minimal incision? I also have biopsy proven class IV (pretty severe) IgA Nephropathy, would the procedure affect my kidneys?

  • can i ask you doctor SURI WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO EXAMINE Mitral Valve problems, becouse i have done 2 echos,2 ekg and the doctors said that i have nothing but i have this problems

  • Dr. Suri, What is the process to send you my cardiology records for review as possible candidate for MV robot repair? Following MV repair, are there any limitations to mt. biking or skiing?

  • GREAT VIDEO

  • I dont know if this is part of it or not but before having this problem I felt sharp pains in my left rib(as being stabbed). This problem happen to me after take nanoVapor one night (i felt fast heartbeats, like an euphoria and then a panic attack). Sometimes I feel like im taking this supplement, having pumped veins all the time.Surely there must be something wrong inside me and the problem is that in all the tests that the doctors make me I'm fine.Right now I dont know whats my real problem.
