Winter War seen by others

It is a rare occasion to see how the other countries see the winter war of Finland (1939-40) and when I stumbled across this british documentary I knew I had to share it. It's a brilliant show! World War 2: the complete history.

I can be a complete idiot, but I hate this modern world. Everything is so easy, "I'm hungry, I open a fridge and take microwave meal, push a button, wait a minute and I can eat" and this life is coming even more easier in the future, with Apple's voice controlled TV's and others. Older times people did hard work for food and were raised to a MEN! Nowadays people, young mostly, couldn't do for shit, couldn't fight for shit, all they care is their iPhones and Facebook status...

Remember The Shelling of Mainila? @Hyyra THey did have the better ones. Their preparation and mentality was far more superior. The soviets soldiers had no reason of their own to invade finland, so their morale wasn't that high.

finland didn't have better soldiers than russia. finns mostly used to fight in a defensive stance in bunkers/trenches with machine guns which made it more easy to handle large russian soldier mass. winter war could be more like longer version of a normandy siege

@snipski0894 Well, in 19th century, people wouldn't call others "pussies" and so on. They would probably only wonder how ruthless people were in WWII. In 1800's wars were like walking in line and dying and another line comes from the back. In WWII there were jews executed, enemies burnt with flamethrowers, innocent people gassed etc.

This right here is why I would side with nazi-Germany against the Soviets any day. I don't believe in nazism, but the Soviets were just awful and a menace against the world.

Finland used to be a part of Russia and was treated well. You could say we were friends, but since world war two, all I wish upon Russia is death.
