Chinese Rock
The Ramones
Ramones Mania
(From "End Of The Century" 1980)

Lyrics:
Somebody calls me on the phone
Say hey-hey-hey is Arty home
You wanna take a walk
You wanna go cop
You wanna go get some Chinese rock

I'm livin' on a Chinese rock
All my best things are in hock
I'm livin' on a Chinese rock
Everything is in the pawn shop

The plaster fallin' off the wall
My girlfriend cryin' in the shower stall
It's hot as a bitch
I should've been rich
But I'm just diggin' a Chinese ditch

Guitar: Johnny Ramone
Lead Vocals: Joey Ramone
Bass: Dee Dee Ramone
Drums: Marky Ramone

  • THE RAMONES VERSION HAS WAY MORE ENERGY, ITS WAY BETTER I LOVE THE JOHNNY THUNDERS BUT COME ON FACE IT!!

  • @pancreaskid Sorry didn't read this...

  • @pancreaskid actually no offence but your are completely wrong, Dee Dee wrote 75% of it and when he asked Joey if the Ramones could play it, he said no saying "The song is too obviously drug related" Dee Dee then brought the song to Richard Hell (they knew each other) and he wrote the rest, even Hell agreed Dee Dee wrote it.

  • new favorite song

  • oh and also dee dee did hate thunders, for stealing the song but for other reasons too. I do agree that the heartbreakers version is better than this one though regardless

  • Just to clear up some of this stuff...dee dee wrote the majority of this song, including all the music, and richard hell wrote some of the lyrics. But the ramones wouldn't play it, so dee dee let hell use it for his band at the time, which was the heartbreakers with thunders...but then when hell left the heartbreakers they continued to play the song, and when LAMF came out thunders and nolan stuck their names on the song too. doesn't matter though ASCAP only recognizes dee dee and hell

  • Regardless who wrote it, thunders' sounds better

  • @amerocker Flixster was (the last time I checked) only available in the U.S.. And im from Sweden, soooo.

  • @candyfreak27 because Thunders stole this song from Dee Dee and Richard Hell
