Today there is increasingly seamless integration of web, mobile and telemetry data affecting the entire health supply chain. This information (and its application) will have massive implications of how individuals interact with healthcare team and will changes how we obtain and share healthcare data. The facts supporting this change are astounding:

• By the end of 2013, close to 80% of the world's population will have wireless coverage. Today there are already more than 5 billion mobile subscribers, with an even greater number having access through family and friendship networks.

• Mobile cloud computing is flourishing; analysts predict will be over 20 times the current amount of mobile cloud based applications in 2014 when compared to 2009. Users will be able to use their mobile phones to share resources and applications inexpensively and without highly technical hardware.

• Artificial intelligence is advancing; modern computing techniques and applications are influencing many areas of everyday human life on increasingly more complex, sophisticated, and intellectually increasingly challenging levels.

• Wearable wirelesses sensors are expected to l grow from 20M to 400M by 2014.

The intersection of mobile communication, cloud computing and wearable sensors holds the potential to transform health systems—demonstrating its potential for extending the reach of health information and services to all patient populations and promoting a shift toward citizen‐centered healthcare and well‐being.

This prize can usher in the development of a seamless, integrated, non-invasive and hands free monitoring device that can provide individuals with personalized, early detection and prevention of disease. It can also respond to emergency events by alerting medical personnel when/if needed. Just as OnStar provides car security, communications, and diagnostics, OnStar for the Body will provide personal health security, communications and diagnostics.
