The I-70 was originally a single screen Drive-in. There was a playground under the screen tower. It was removed in the late 80s. 3 new screens were added in the early 90s.

  • Do you know what the typical season is for the I-70?

  • @TetrisPlayer It usually stays open until late October. A few years ago they had it opened through the winter. But I guess they didnt get the buisness they were hoping for. In the old days, many drive ins had electric heaters attached to the speaker poles. I remember watching The Poseiden Adventure as a kid at either the State or the lake park. And there was snow on the ground.

  • I love this video! I got a chance to go there back on June 6th this year and I loved it! I even got to buy two speakers from them. The guy working at the snack bar on his phone is the guy who sold them to me. I really am glad you posted this. It really makes me happy to see this place again. I really wish I lived closer.

  • @TetrisPlayer Thanks for the comments!

  • You might just have convinced me to buy a Flip. Have fun tonight, oh ye drive in nut. Looking forward to seeing your latest.

  • @RQVOutdoorMoovies My advice, if you do buy a flip. Spend a few extra bucks and get the HD version. The standard one doesnt have much of a zoom. Catch ya later man!

  • I just saw that they recently closed for the season. I hope to go back when they open back up. Also hope to get the speaker pole stand built and maybe I can show them what I did with them.

I think the I-70 used to have heaters at one time. I noticed that some poles had extra electrical boxes attached to them and others had cut wires sticking out of the ground next to the poles. The place opened in 64 so it is possible. Glad they are open that late though. I have something I am going to send them for being so helpful with my speakers and I want to make sure they are open when they get it.

  • @driveinights Your welcome!

  • @driveinights Thanx!
