In 1990, SOUTH YEMEN united with its neighbour NORTH YEMEN.

After the conditions of the agreement were not met, and the evil intentions of the northern dictator Ali Abdullah Saleh now clear, the southern leaders declared an end to the unity, and war broke out in 1994 resulting in the defeat of the outnumbered and weakened southern military.

Since then, a growing movement called THE PEACEFUL SOUTHERN MOVEMENT has spread across the whole of the south. Their aim, which is to be achieved through peaceful means, is a regain of independence and a re-establishment of their own state.

This is a little video I made to describe the situation in the south.

Hope you enjoy it! :)

  • Yemen will always be one love it or leave it

  • OUST SALEH, HE WANTS TO BUILD A NUCLEAR REACTOR IN SOUTH YEMEN! NO TO THE NUCLEAR MONSTER IN YEMEN!

  • @NickPatrick2. I don't know how serious you are, but incase you are actually serious, this is NOT at all the reason Yemenis are demanding the removal of Ali Saleh. He can just about host a safe football tournament, never mind build a nuclear reactor. And even if Yemen was to ever achieve nuclear power, that would be a reason to support the man responsible, not ouster him!

  • what freedom are u talking about. the freedom that u were not allowed to own ur land that u were not allowed to have a certain amount of clothes that a soldier would come to someone's house and tell the man to go and wait outside while he sleeps with his wife. a freedom that alcohol was sold in nearly every shop and some place people used to pray at home coz they were not allowed to pray in the mosque coz it was only opened specific hours.etc these are stories from pl who lived in the south

  • @hassan7132. First of all, this video is not at all in support of the former government of South Yemen. The majority of southerners - including the former President Ali Salem Albeid - have made it clear they do not want a return to the old socialist ruling. Secondly, although condition prior to 1990 were not perfect, these claims you make are ridiculous accusations and I wonder who exactly you have been speaking to.

  • I honestly opened an account just to comment on the fabolus and wonderful job done by u brother. I am from YEMEN and walla with ganoobys till u get justice. My wish is for yemen to stay united and wish if ppl in the north wake up and learn from their southern brothers how to live free or die. Peace to every honorable person who fights for his/her justice. Indeed, Allah is with patients..
