Washer/dryers are still made,but rarely sold in the US. A friend in England has one,and if it's performance was like most, there's a reason they failed in the US market. It took half the day and left the clothes still a little damp.

Such a beautiful wash cycle. That is the best kind of high-efficiency water use PLUS recirculating and showering action. Later-on Kenmore W-D's called the action "Roto-Spray". The drying action was great too, except it took forever, thanks to the pitifully slow 225+rpm spin, which was totally inadequate. The GE Combo was just as slow.
