Brian Wilson is an American Icon. He has written, sang, and performed some of the most classic Rock and Roll ever anywhere. He isn't young, and he's been through alot, but still puts himself out there. To criticize or ridicule him at his age now simply proves you are a dumb ass who knows nothing about pop culture and American Rock and Roll.

there is obviously a medical condition attached to his singing now. he was the best though....up there with mccartney.

@wickedrums R u kidding? we should not be talking of barry manillow in a Brain Wilson post. Never. He was not an artist who changed the course of music. Sure his singing was excellent, his performing was passable, but his songs are predictable, sugarine and disposable, except where he made a cover.

2 thoughts.... First of all most of the time when someone is singing a little out of key it is usually a sign that they can't hear themselves on stage. Monitoring onstage is very important so if the monitors are not loud enough you can't hear yourself.

Secondly, our society in modern times has been fed with music that is "fixed" when recorded. In the old days you recorded a song many times until you nailed it. Now a days they use "Autotune" so everyone sounds great artificially which SUCKS.

@towser06 The problem is that Brian most likely had very little to do with the writing of this song. I'm as big of a Brian fan as anyone but although the initial chord pattern may have been Brian's, most of the song (including the bridge) was almost certainly written by Van Dyke Parks. Parks (and others) remembers it that way and over the years he has been one of Brian's staunchest supporters. Indeed if he was going to take credit for any of Brian's work, it would have been SMiLE - he never has.

@ilsy74 I didn't intend to "paint" anyone except the haters and detractors who aren't a pimple on Brian Wilson's ass. I am sorry if you were offended. Obviously, there are more of Brian's fans who commented positively than the detractors that did not.
