The father of a man who was hit by a car in Birmingham says he died trying to protect his community from rioters.
21-year old Hanoon Jahan was returning home from a mosque in Winson Green on Tuesday when a car ploughed into him and his two friends.
His father Tariq Hassan said: "Someone told me my son was behind me. I started CPR on my own son. My face and hands were covered in blood. Why?"
To show their solidarity, a crowd of people gathered outside the City Hospital early on Wednesday morning.
Police have arrested a 32-year-old who is being questioned on suspicion of murder following the deaths of the three men.
Violence flared up in Birmingham on Tuesday as people looted shops, threw bricks at police and torched cars.
Tariq Hassan says he does not blame anyone for the death of his son: "I don't blame the government. I don't blame the police. I don't blame anybody. I'm a Muslim and I believe it was his destiny. May Allah bless him."
