  • @panzerrat SWEET! I ought to keep track of the airtankers as many old warbirds have been doing it for years.

  • @GrigoriZhukov Looked it up, the airframe still had all the radials onboard. Curtiss-Wright sold the bird in 1966, and the next owner converted it back to just a 4 engine bomber, reinstalling a nose from a different airframe. N5111N was registered as an aerial tanker and crashed in 1980. She, and parts from other B-17s are being rebuilt as an airworthy plane as N3154S.

  • @panzerrat that is real. try looking up the regristration number on the wing.
