Ploygon motor also calls mirror motor or scanner motor. Works with very hight speeds. On this video show i gave 12v normally was working 24volt.

  • Pin 3 or Pin 4 is probably a chip enable on the Hitachi chip (HA13535), where low is enable. Which one it is I'm not sure, but I think pin 4 might be an index output.

For your Panasonic chip, see if AN8245K or AN8245SCR have compatible pin-outs with your chip as they're polygonal mirror motor drivers as well.

  • @BionicBadgerFromHell I found HA13536F datasheet i dont know it looks like same? Or otherwise can you write part number of your polygon motor? Maybe we can find beling to which printer? So if we can find of that printer service manual. Also writen of the pin outs which pin is what. Maybe we can solve .

  • I've got a polygon mirror motor board like this, but it has some Hitachi chip that I can't find a datasheet for. It has a 5-input connector like yours, and 4 wires. From my testing, all pins do have a purpose. Pin 1 is V+ (18V-24V max or so), and pin 2 is GND. Pin 3 and 4, pull one or more low, the motor spins, with a threshold of 1.4V; pull them high, the motor does not spin. Pin 3 connects directly to pin 1 of the chip, pin 4 to a capacitor. Can you test for something like this on yours?

  • @BionicBadgerFromHell pin 1 = Vmotor(+18 or 24 volt like you saying) pin2= Gnd pin3= ? pin4= and pin5 is unknown this 3 pins are probably one or logic +5 v other Vref or so thats means vref can be 5v or 3v or so. What can i advice you if you give me ic name i can search also i will try to find any tips with service manuals belong to which printer ? :)) or you can search yourself too. Good luck

  • Thank you for the Pinning! I've got a Scanner with AN8248NSB and the Pinning is equal.

The Motor is way faster at 24V than at 12V. Mine starts spinning slowly at 6V.

Do you have a PDF Datasheet of your Motordriver? I'd be interested in

it, because maybe I can measure the Speed with one Pin of the IC. Pin 3 don't send out any Pulse signal, but maybe I wrecked this feature by applying 5V to this Pin.

    Regards,

    Rainer

  • @atalazs unfortunately not. I think i found from hp laser jet service manual.

  • @Wizzard033 i just do it as a hobby ...... its fun

  • I have a polygon motor Panasonic AN8244SB and guess as to the pin outs for it? ANd alsoif anyone has great projects for these I'm open to ideas! I have 3 of these and another as well

  • @albertosony

Same here! I also have three and love disembowling electrinics. ;D

what are some of the typical uses people have for recycled polygon motors?

  • @halimvedat I've scoured the net for it, but if you think you'll have more luck it'd be good to find the chip. The chip number is: HA13535. The closest I've found is HA13532NT; however it has fewer pins and don't seem to have the same kind of connections.

  • @halimvedat thx a lot!!
