CGRHD reviews SEGA CD CASE and MEGA FOAM INSERT

Classic Game Room HD reviews the SEGA CD case design and MEGA FOAM INSERT, which is better than a standard foam insert. Because it locks in place and comforts the Sega CD games housed within the needlessly complicated packaging. The Sega Genesis or Mega Drive was able to expand with this Mega CD add on. With two or three power adapters (if you have a 32x) you could make your MEGADRIVE the most powerful force in the universe. There are many MD CD games evailable out there like Android Assault, Robo Aleste, Snather, Loadstar, Silpheed and Sewer Shark. What is interesting about the cases (and I think they are the same ones that they use for the Sega Saturn) is that they could have contributed to the failure of the Sega CD itself. These over complex cases have foam padding and hinges and no doubt increased the manufacturing cost of the games themselves. Sega CD was an utter failure. So was the 32X. Great ideas for the Genesis but not executed well.

@uwright22 Its true. Yeah some systems used to use cases like that. Like sega saturn, cd and playstation as well. I saw them at my locan classical video game store.
