I'm getting married soon and this is a look I am playing with. There are three parts to this look: Foundation, eyes and lips/facial sculpting. It is suited to most skin tones and eye colours because it is neutral on the eyes. Part 1 of 3

Products Used:
MAC Select SPF 15 Fluid Foundation in NC42
MAC Strobe Cream
AfterGlow Setting Powder

  • in person my foundation looks great but in picures it looks like i put white powder on. why is this?.. what can i do????????

i use clinique foundation and then set it with powder.

  • Try a coloured powder rather than a translucent. You are also probably putting on too much also, keep it very light.

  • Congratulations on your marriage! I hope everything goes swimmingly for you! I love the technique of pressing the translucent powder into the face with a sponge, i'm going to try that. You probably already know this but there are also liquid products that you can mist over the face to take away the powdery look whilst also setting the make up. MAC do a nice rose water based spray that I have heard good things about.

  • With a good primer you shouldn't need it really. But those products are good for freshening up the make up during the day. I use The Body Shop Vitamin E facial spray for that.

  • But some makeup artists say that spf is not good for photos.. so when you do wedding makeup .. you dont use sunblock.. im confused :(

  • I am more concerned about preventing skin cancer! Some sunblocks are lilac and that can be disastrous, so find a good one that does not leave that residue on the skin. I use Clinique Factor 30 Face Suncream, it's brilliant. If you go to a dermatologist they can even give you tinted moisturisers with Factor 30 in them. You can even use prepnprime50 by MAC which has factor 50 in it. And don't forget a good photographer will post produce your photos to get the colour balance right anyway...
