  • I ended up getting a softer compound gasket. Don't remember the number but espresso parts NW had two versions.

I got the pf from them too.

  • What a great shot you got there. May I ask what was the temperature? And was it hard to install the PID? I'm clueless with the electric wiring, so will I still be able to install the PID with an instruction?

  • Thanks, It is 201 at the group. Not hard at all to install the Auber PID. Came with clear install instruction and took about an hour. I highly recommend it.

  • I'm trying to understand this reasoning, but why do you have a Baratza Vario, when you have what looks to be a Super Jolly?

  • It is a Mazzer Mini not a super jolly. The grind quality on the Vario is just as good as a super jolly IMO. My reasoning is that the Vario is faster, cleaner and easier than the mazzer. If you had ever tried the Vario you would probably agree.

  • I just got the Silvia and the Vario as well. I'm having trouble finding the grind grind settings for the Vario. What macro and micro settings do you use? Thanks.

  • Awesome setup!

  • Aloha DrCroix - I'm having similar problem with gasket leak after recent replacement following good cleaning. You mentioned it took some getting used to - what specifically helps ?

  • where did you get that portafilter?

  • How many grams of coffee did you use? Did you updose this shot? Thx

  • Interesting, I almost purchased a Mazzer Mini, but instead ordered a Vario. I hear the Vario is superior in grind quality over the Mazzer Mini.

Is this true since you have both?

  • I have not owned or tried a Vario, but own a Rancilio Rocky grinder, but have modded it to allow step-less capability.

I note you still apply WDT. No problem with that as it help reduce clumping. But if you have the Mazzer why need the Vario?
