Our Ellie was diagnosed with a rare pediatric cancer (stage 4 Rhabdomyosarcoma) on July 2, 2008. After 10 months of treatment... including 42 rounds of chemotherapy and 30 days of radiation to her trunk and lungs... our Ellie obtained remission in May of 2009. Sadly, the cancer relapsed only 3 short months later.
Once again, our Ellie is in the fight for her life and receiving chemotherapy and in the next few months will undergo surgery... then more chemotherapy. Ellie's survival rate over 5 years is more than 1%, but less than 10%. Please pray for our Ellie to be healed of all cancer. We believe in God and Miracles!

Potvin Family escapes to a house on the beach for a well deserved break from the madness called pediatric cancer. Ellie had just been discharged from the hospital after 12 long days. Ellie had a blood transfusion, temperature of 104 and then 5 days straight of chemotherapy. But within just over a week home ... our Ellie rallied for Spring Break... her spirit and love for life is more than present in this video. The day after vacation ended Ellie went back into the hospital for 2 more days of chemotherapy... she arrived home today.

Her "no chemo, no nothin'" comment broke my heart. I remember those moments - as much as a week before my mom died, when she went to Atlantic City with some of her girlfriends. When she came home from that trip is when her body gave up the fight. Both of your girls are very proud of you and their dad. They're both lucky to have you. Ellie is always smiling down her sunshine on you. <3

Praise God for this beautiful little girl and the many lives that her story and her faith have changed. She is such an incredible child. Her story has taught me to live every second to the fullest, and keep the faith in our Lord no matter how hard life becomes. May her family and all who know her story rest in peace knowing that she is dancing in heaven, the pain completely taken away. God bless the Potvin family!! Continue to lift them up in prayer!
