VIA Bus Crashes — Graphic!

A review of footages captured by on—board cameras on public busses in US, and has uncovered several number of crashes apparently caused by driver's error.

In San Antonio, a public bus driver sending text messages on his phone plowed the 12-ton vehicle he was driving into the back of a stopped SUV.

After an accident injuring dozens of people, a Boston trolley driver admitted he was texting his girlfriend when the crash occurred.

In Texas drivers admit to using their cell phones while driving.

As tragedies involving public transit and text-messaging drivers add up, so does the research indicating that more and more people are using their cell phones to send text messages while driving.

Now considering a bill that would make Driving While Textng illegal, and another that would prohibit Texas teenagers from driving while talking on a cell phone. Another proposal would ban all drivers from using cell phones while behind the wheel.

Hopefully this will make the road and traffic much safer palce.

Wow. It's actually sad someone as dumb as you exist. Many people with disabilities are UNABLE to drive, even if they had the finances to do so.

In the UK, Where I'm from, Public transport is used more, as the cost of purchasing and owning a motor vehicles is prohibitive, even to the middle and upper class of the population.

Simply saying, Get a car, is pathetic, and completely mindless. I suggest from now on, you use your brain, before clicking "Post Comment", you'll look a lot better.

@xoDAKox The reason so fewer cars are on the road in the UK is because just like in Ontario, all the oil refinaries have been shut down, and as a result, the prices of gas have skyrocketed. All the liberal countries are suffering from an epidemic of people thinking that cars are bad in every way, and public transit is good in every way.

All you could hear on the video of the bus that crashed in to the back of the other one was that little kid chattering, and then of course screaming and crying after the crash. But then that's pretty much all little kids ever seem to do is scream and cry.

Sure there might be accidents, but I have so much faith in the excellent people we train that I don't believe these incidents could be their own fault! The camera footage was falsified. Now there's a dumb and sensational comment. Buses around the world will pull up that close behind other vehicles when stopping, it's to prevent people from crossing just in front of the bus and not being seen by the driver. The fact that the bus driver crashes 10 seconds later has nothing to do with where he stopped earlier.

thousands of cars get into accidents every day, why are buses exempt? it happens. You're in a vehicle taht weighs tons, be prepared to just maybe not come home that day. And why no uproar over the fact that buses are exempt from seatbelts? We harp about cell phones & seatbelts in cars but no pissing & moaning over seatbelts in buses. tsk tsk
