Since Oct 1, 2008, I've completed 2 of at least 3 images of classified feature ID 0002. I've also completed the welcome sign for the entrance to Ulillillia City, the small town seen at the start of the game. This sign is actually right along the pathway and you can stand on it as well. From this, I went on to finish the plans for the city and most details are good as they are. Some changes may still be made. After that, I finished one of the many buildings needed. This video only shows that of the welcome sign and the one building that I finished. Not much else has changed though beyond this. There's only 6 rows of buildings (going along the east/west line), and the bulk of these are houses, of which line the outer edges. There's a highway as well, and it's closer than the building.

  • So are you, or have you, gonna add that effect to PM, then?

  • PM isn't anywhere near as focused on graphics as TSO is, but still, there's plenty to enjoy and be amazed at. Just watch the one where I covered the scene before the DirectX migration (which is now SDL as DirectX is really limiting and complicated for 2D stuff beyond DX7). In this video segment, you'll see how the clouds and ground behave - they're very much identical to TSO, though less advanced and simpler, except the clouds which actually exceed TSO's ground significantly.

  • Are you gonna add the "3D"effect of the background to buildings and such? Like for the rooftops?

  • TSO is currently stalled and my current project, Platform Masters, has far more potential to it pushing TSO back. PM is simpler to make and I have much more progress toward it than TSO. PM's clouds are far more advanced than TSO's ground - they're far more 3D-like, to the point of perfection, even though no 3D drawing functions are used. I have videos showing them in action too! TSO may end up being a 2.5D game instead meaning that I'll need to get into 3D programming first beforehand.

  • Not really. There's still a lot more of PM to do before demos become possible. Even for me, I still can't play it yet because none of the character motions are done (running, jumping, gliding, collision detection, etc.), let alone the 250+ levels.... All of worlds 6, 8, and 9 are done with parts and pieces of other worlds (doing the water waves for world 8 means progress in world 2, 5, and, I think, 14 as well because these worlds use the same scenery, a shortcut I have.

  • Any chance of a demo coming out for Platform Masters in the near future?

  • Platform Masters has kind of taken over right now. I'm going to need some kind of hardware acceleration if this game is going to ever take off.

  • I want you to continue this :3.

    it looks nice.
