John Letts is a thatcher and crop archaeologist, among other things. He has been reviving ancient varieties of wheat, which he grows and makes bread from under the Oxford Bread Group. But because those seeds aren't on an official list which is kept by Defra, it is illegal to trade them, or even give them to someone!
As an act of civil disobedience, and in the interest of the future resilience of the UK wheat harvest, this video shows John illegally selling a handful for a pound to Colin Tudge - the biologist and writer who has founded the campaign for real farming.
