When we're ready to hit the dance floor, nothing gets us going like a well-made cocktail. At award-winning Shrine Asian Bistro and Lounge at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods Resort Casino, a new signature sipper is giving the classic mojito a run for its money. We visit Manshantucket, CT, where Mixologist Joe O'Connor is mixing things up Beantown-style with Absolut Boston black tea-infused vodka.
Tip: Use lemons and limes for an extra citrusy mojito
Tip: Skip the (bitter) stems and use just the mint leaves
Tip: Simple syrup is one part water/one part sugar, boiled down
Tip: Absolut Boston is infused with black tea and elderflower essence
Tip: Top mojito with fresh soda water for a nice fizz
Trick: Aim for 8-12 mint leaves, adjust according to their size
Trick: 3 counts = approximately 3/4 of an ounce
Technique: Muddle mint without ice to better extract oil and flavor from the leaves
