@SupernautG No, a lot of German marches include people clapping. They use the strict German 110bpm "triple beat", and were composed for the "Stechschritt" Prussian goosestep, which, when a regiment passes in review, makes a distinctive "rock crushing" sound. The clapping imitates that sound. Even up till the 1980s, Marching music composed in the erstwhile east german used the same distinctive German triple beat, and East German troops passed in review "im exerzieschritt", ie, goosestepping.

There are a number of us Yanks whose ancestor's original homeland was Scotland, like myself, and get teary eyed at the sound of bagpipes! Scotland the Brave Forever! Hail our traditional Allies past, present and future!

@flargle1967 I love them already. Nothing like the sound of pipes and drums. Get's the heart beating that little bit faster and stirs one to the core. Simply magnificent.
