Hopefully you have seen my review of the Springfield Armory M1A rifle. If so, here is what I'll call part two - I'm putting a few rounds of .308 down range.

This is my first time shooting this rifle and I really like it - feels good, it's accurate and the recoil isn't that bad. Of course...you do feel it!! I was using Remington 150 grain ammunition. My results were quite good condering I'm no marksman, and the rifle was right out of the box (I cleaned it of course!). I can see why the U.S. military still uses the M14 as a sniper rifle - it's a fine weapon. It certainly gives you the feeling you can hit anything, at any distance!!

The other shooters at the range seemed to like M1As too!! Several of them commented on the accuracy of these guns, even at long range. One of them used the M14 in service, and his only complaint was the weight. No surprise there!

If you are thinking of buying one, now's the time! Based on my experience, you'll enjoy shooting it. It's well made, shoots great, and I'm sure it will be reliable for years with just basic maintenance. Better hurry!!!

Enjoy!

  • who is the best to buy brand new m1a from? I've heard bad things about springfeild.

  • @600trillion Got mine on gunbroker but local dealers, gun shows or other web sites like auction arms have them.

  • @nashi55 i mean't brand wise, my understanding is the Ruger sells the Mini 14/30, but doesn't produce the m1a, springfeild produces m1a but isn't the best. on the other hand, people also say that honda's have bad transmissions, so i guess your milage may vary. maybe just get a min-14 with an aftermarket barrel, not sure...

  • @600trillion Fulton Armory produces their own M1A version. It's more expensive but may be worth it to those who will use it (in competition) and really want the best. I felt the SA M1A was a good choice based on what I read.

  • @nashi55 holy shit dude, thanks, for some reason the company isn't mentioned as a producer on wikipedia, sure they are expensive, but they look worth it, and a 1.5 MOA .308 with built in troy chassis sounds like exactly what Im wanting. [ Fulton Armory M14 SOPMOD ] , give me a new buttstock and it's a 10/10

  • @600trillion Glad to help.

  • @daviddavid6000 If you're a fan of M1As, 308 rifles and shooting, then you'll enjoy it. BTW...what were you expecting - a bikini contest???

  • You recommend m14 over m16 rifles? I know they bit diffrent, but the m14 seems more acurate.

  • @600trillion Good choice. You can't go wrong with the Fulton.

  • @2ndarymotion doesn`t matter dude, my needs are partially collector, partially I want something to hunt with and a home defender, Fulton Armory M14 SOPMOD is my rifle, waiting on it now.

  • @600trillion Fulton builds a better receiver. Is it worth it? That depends. Usually, when people compare brands, they speak in nuances. "The Ferrari is faster than the Lamborghini". Well when the Ferrari goes 238mph and the Lambo "only" goes 237 - the statement is true, but does it matter? More importantly, are YOU ever going to get the opportunity to find out? Are you going into to full-time combat, or do you just need a good rifle to defend home & country? I've had NO problems w/ my 3 SA's.

  • @2ndarymotion Yeah sounds like a video in the making....where's the nearest Hooters????
