When choosing a President, experience matters. We saw what happened in 2000 when America voted for the person who was likable and "talked a good talk." In 2008, there are many candidates with the experience needed to combat the growing challenges America faces; Barack Obama is not one of them.
From TIME magazine (Mar. 10, 2008), Does Experience Matter in a President?:
"Experience never exists in isolation; it is always a factor that coexists with temperament, training, background, spiritual outlook and a host of other factors," says presidential historian Richard Norton Smith. "Character is your magic word, it seems to me — not just what they've done but how they've done it and what they've learned from doing it."
It is character that causes many of us to reject the Clintons.

Why should we have to hide in the shadows before we all take a stand against those who have wronged and misled us? Do you seriously think that Obama would lie more, or care less, wreck our reputation, or harm Americans more than Bush has? Seriously, come on!

This video says nothing. Americans are smarter than Bush. They know how to speak the English language more eloquently, or at least, better than he does. Not many though can step up and take a stand for freedom (if at the least, for free speech) as Obama does.

Great leaders give great speeches! Bush is neither. Come on!

Crappy video, and bush was never an eloquent speaker. People just thought he was a down to earth rube who couldnt talk good. turns out the new american century got to him, and his play it by ear approach was replaced by a bizarre conspiracy to defeat saddam. Something wolfowitzz was hell bent on for years, something W's father failed to do after kuwait.

In summary, most of our greatest presidents had comparable experience to both Obama and GW Bush. Our worst presidents also range from this amount of experience to massively experienced. History only suggests that a certain threshold of experience needs to be met. Obama, and all major candidates except perhaps Giuliani (only because he'd be the first mayor) easily meet that threshold. Beyond that, we can only look at other factors, such as character, judgment, leadership style, etc.

History does not bear this out.
Lincoln: 2 yrs as US Representative.
Washington: no elected position only military experience.
FDR: Governor for 4 years, though he did hold a junior Cabinet post.
Teddy Roosevelt: 1 yr as VP and 3 yrs as governor.
Woodrow Wilson: 1.5 yrs as governor
Andrew Jackson: 1/2 yr as territorial governor, 1 yr as US Rep, 1.5 yrs as Senator
Eisenhower: no political experience, only military.
