Block the dogsx nostrils when he does this. That will cause him to catch his breath.
-
@moko1117 same here.. is your dog still alright now??
-
That happens to my dog, but it only happens when he gets too excited or drinks to much water.
-
@ronni617 but you should not try this its dangerous
-
It's ok to hold their snout closed, it often helps. But obviously covering the nostrils and holding the mouth together will suffocate them.

and you dont need to get the vet to "check it out" . just let your dog go through it, its just uncomfortabe it dosnt hurt them. just leave him/her alone and let them go through it
-
I am a vet and go get that checked out!

my 1 year old staffie-rottie cross does this and I just gently pat each side of her ribs and it helps her stop. I think it is allergies from grass as her eyes get a bit gooey too after nosing her head through every clump of grass during summer walks.
ok whatever you do DO NOT HOLD HIS/HER NOSE!!!! it could cut off their air supply!!!! THEY COULD DIE!!!!!

I am a veterinary nurse (19 years experience), this is reverse sneezing. Nothing to worry about, and there are no such things as nasal mites......
