Taiko Drum God

Recent video shot in Kumamoto Japan of this Japanese guy playing the Taiko Drum game. This guy was amazing!!! He was playing like the hardest level and was getting 500+ combos. Before uploading this video I browsed for other taiko vids and this guy is by far the most impressive I have seen. One might think he just memorized this particular level, but I (along with like a dozen amazed other people) watched him play like ten different levels nearly flawlessly. He had his own drum sticks and a towel for sweat wiping hahahaha. For those that don't know anything about this game and think it is just banging on the drum, it is like dance dance revolution, the characters tell you where to hit the drum (right side, left side, top, middle, etc...) I can't get over how awesome this guy was.

Glad you like it. This guy was amazing, I couldn't believe how well he was doing. I wanted to take more video footage of him, but didnt want to look like the dorky tourist hahahaha.

While I agree that the two drum playing guys are impressive, this guy still is the best. I watched several other taiko drum vids, and the ones that are doing both drums arent getting much more than 20-30 hit combos if that. This guy was getting 500-700 hit combos. Plus playing a faster song. So, even if you added the scores of both drums on the other guys, this guy would win.

there are characters on the white strip on the bottom which says what tye of note it is. that mode just hides the visual don-kat notes so it forces the player to look at the words instead.

@molitatron yes but they died one hell of a death. they were REALLY huge in the 70s right to the end of the 80s.

now it will take a miracle to get them to back to their former glory. i mean, who wants to go to an arcade and spend money these days when you have a console or a pc at home...
