Hey dude, I had the same opinion on them too, but it changed after 2 solid months of listening to their stuff.. Then suddenly, I realized what a fucking genius Dimebag is (and of course Phil , Rex and Vinnie) and I just couldn't get enough of them. I still can't actually. From being a foreign band I didn't see what people found in, Pantera became my 3rd favorite band. Kind of the same thing with Annihilator but on smaller levels.

There would be MANY people who will disagree.

Professional musicians, and music magazine critics usually praise Metallica's albums, and these guys know their shit. You don't have to agree of course. That's your opinion and it's cool. But I think that comparing bands is stupid. In case you missed it, the reason I said "Pantera kick the shit out of Overkill" in the beginning was to deliver my point to some moron that saying a certain band is better than this other is stupid.

@VlaDuZa As for the Metallica love, yeah. A lot respect the first 4 albums. But there are just as many who disregard MoP and AJFA, because MoP is just incredibly overrated, and AJFA is very safe, straight-forward and not THAT good.

Then are those who only like the No Life 'Til Leather demo, because that's basically Kill 'Em All, just better.

Regardless, though, everyone still realizes Metallica is a fucking joke now. I'd be willing to say they died with Cliff.

I don't know a single fool who would be stupid enough to think Megadeth is better than Motorhead.

That being said.. Death Angel isn't that good.

DARK ANGEL, on the other hand! Darkness Descends shits on pretty much anything both Overkill and Metallica have ever done. It's one of the best albums from '86.

@VlaDuZa Aside from the fact that the majority of awards and awards shows are a bunch of jokes, and the people who vote on that shit are some of the most entry-level music fans ever? Awards shows suck. It's not that Metal isn't allowed, it's that award givers know jack shit.

There are tons of Metal bands that deserve far more awards than Metallica, but that'll never happen because Metallica is popular, and no one give a damn about real Metal bands that aren't being worshipped in Lolling Stones.

@VlaDuZa And why wouldn't I have said Annihilator and Pantera suck? Both bands only had a couple good albums, mainly their earlier works. What? Am I supposed to be one of those idiots who thinks Metal is absolutely infallible? Am I supposed to trick myself into thinking all Metal is good, even when its not? Fuck no. Metal can suck, and I will point it out.
