  • The old bridge came out by the bare spot on the bluffs that you see at 0:18. The hotel was on the other side of town, and existed the same time as the old bridge. The hotel on the bluffs has recently been torn down and nothing is there right now.

  • @nightwolf312 When was the hotel torn down?

  • I apologize for the misinformation below. The bridge was torn out and replaced in 74. It doesn't seem like it was that long ago.

  • The hotel on the bluff is actually built on a section of the old Marquette - Prairie Du Chien bridge that was torn down in the early 80's. During the construction they ran a ferry back and forth to get people across. The old bridge approach is still there. It is the road that goes behind the hardware store.

  • The Pink Elephant was a well known supper club and hotel preceding the days of the Isle of Capri and gambling. The other great Supper club was White Springs in McGregor which is still there.Great videos. If you are back in the area please tour Lansing and swing through Waterville and if its Friday head to tiny Rossville for the best all you can eat fish deal ever.

  • When you were there did you stop at Bloody Run Campground. Some of the best fishing around.
