Yes, that's what this video is from: the '08 tour. At the Las Vegas stop, Rise Against and Alkaline Trio played a small acoustic show at the House of Blues before their actual performance.

i saw them once.. and they were not stoked on the crowd. no encore.. i was pissed.. they r soo fuckin awsome though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.. This is not matt skiba in this vid!!!!!!!!!!

i went to a rise against concert or maybe an offspring concert can't remember anywho the alkaline trio was opening up and let me tell you the trio was horrible live. they didn't even interact with the croud i honestly couldn't wait for them to end their songs

I've seen the trio over twelve times with various bands, and I absolutely adore them. Maybe you saw them on a bad night or something, because at every show I've seen with them Matty and Dan and even Derek are always interacting with the crowd.
